【摘要】:Currently,noonebodyofworkexiststhatcontainsacomprehensivestandardfordefiningtheperformancestandardsforpersonnelthatareinitialresponderstoillnessandinjuryintheoccupationalsetting.Wherebyseveralcorporate,state,andnationalorganizationshavedevelopedtrainingcurricula,noindependentconsensusstandardestablishesanationalminimumrequirement.Thisguideallowsthedeterminationofcourseequivalencyandprovidesamechanismtoassessregulatorycompliance.ThisguideisintendedtobeconsistentwiththeNationalEMSEducationandPracticeBlueprint,thusthefirstaidproviderinanoccupationalsettinginthisguideisdefinedasin3.1.2.ThisindividualusesalimitedamountofequipmenttoperforminitialassessmentandinterventionwhileawaitingarrivalofEMS.Thegoalofthisguideistoprovideprogramdevelopers,institutionsteachingfirstaidcourses,consumersofthesecourses,andregulatoryagencypersonnelwhorevieworapprovecourses,orboth,theessentialelementsofwhatisconsideredsafe,helpful,andeffectivefirstaidtraining.Thefocusandtrainingissimilarand,insomecases,largelyidenticaltothosestandardsdevelopedbytheNationalGuidelinesforFirstAidTraininginOccupationalSettings(NGFATOS)developedbytheNGFATOSconsensusgroupreferencedinSection2.1.1Thisguidecoverstheminimumrequirementsneededtotrainastudenttoassessandmanageillnessandinjurypriorto:(1)notification,arrival,ortreatmentbytraditionalEMSagencies,orcombinationthereof,or(2)managementofaminoremergencymedicalincidentinsteadofanEMSresponse.1.2Thisguidealsorecommendsminimuminstructorqualifications,programlogistics,andmedicaloversightconsiderations.1.3Thisguidedoesnotdelineateanewlevelofformalizededucationforprehospitalmedicalprovision.ThisguidedoesnotreplaceordecreasetheneedforappropriateagenciestoseekstateornationallicensureorcertificationasanFirstResponderorEmergencyMedicalTechnician(Basic,Intermediate,orParamedic).1.4Contentandskillsappropriatetothefirstaidprovider'sscopeofcareandspecifictothehazardsorrisksofparticularindustriesandoccupationsmaybeaddedbyprogramdevelopers,instructors,andemployers.Thesechangesshouldbeconsistentwiththeintentanddesignofthisguide.
